Client services and fees

staffUP offers four services for our clients:


Direct Employment Staffing

Fee Structure
We work on a contingent basis, so there's no fee unless you hire a candidate we introduce. Once you've successfully attracted a candidate we've introduced, we receive a fee equal to 20% of the candidate's annual salary. Our fee is not based on the value of benefits, stock options, bonuses, or other non-salary compensation.

Guarantee
In the event that a relationship with a candidate ends within 90 days of the date of the start of their employment, we will provide a replacement candidate for no additional fee.

Fee Options
We have negotiated variations in our fee including a portion of the fee in equity or stock options, payment plans that spread out our fee, and other creative options. Please contact us for more information about these options.


Contractor/Consultant Staffing

Fee Structure
You can hire contractors through us for as little time as an hour and for needs as long as several years. We bill technical contractor staff on an hourly basis in quarter hour increments.

We're the Employer
Typically, the candidates are our W-2 employees during the time that they work with you. Our hourly bill rate includes the hourly rate for the contractor, their payroll taxes, insurance, and other related employee costs. We also offer a health care option to contractors who work on projects over a month in duration.

Conversion
If you choose to hire a contractor as your direct employee during the first six months of their employment, we receive a conversion fee. This is a pro-rated amount starting at 20% of the salary accepted by the candidate for conversions within the first month, and declining by 1/6th each month. After six months, you may convert the contractor to your employee for no additional fee.


Retained Search Staffing

Retained Search
For strategic positions including senior management or technical positions, a retained search may be the best choice.

In this situation, we directly assign a recruiter to your opening and your staffing requirement is the focus of that recruiter's efforts.

We provide weekly updates on our progress, and immediate status updates about active candidates.

We work with you both to evaluate internal candidates and to identify and recruit external candidates. We help you evaluate each candidate, and if you elect to extend an offer, we assist you in bringing the negotiation to a successful conclusion.

Guarantee
We guarantee we will identify and present at least two qualified candidates for your requirement.

Retained Search Fee Structure
Our fee for retained searches is 30% of the salary accepted by the selected candidate. This is paid in three segments, 1/3 upon our acceptance of the assignment, 1/3 after 30 days, the final 1/3 after an offer is accepted. The difference in fees reflects the focus we place on these searches, and the fact that we will have to de-emphasize our recruiter's efforts for other clients while they are "retained" for your opening.


Brokered Project Work

What is "Project Work?"
Some of our clients need more than just a direct employee or contractor for their needs. They require a complete project to be done, often off-site, sometimes involving more than one technical resource, and they may want to have the work delivered for a fixed price.

We know the Technical Firms
While we do not develop software on fixed price projects, we have developed relationships with a number of highly skilled technical firms who are interested in this kind of work. Often these firms do not aggressively advertise their services and rely on referrals from us and their existing clients. In other words, you may not be able to find them on your own.

No Direct Fee
Typically, we receive a fee from the development firm for our referral and there's no direct fee to us from you. The development firm and your firm would have a direct relationship, with all specifications, contracts, fee agreements and pricing decided through negotiation between you and the firm we introduce.
